Eight Drawer Chest
72” wide - 22” deep - 42” tall

      This chest is made from California Walnut and quilted Western Maple. The walnut frame is assembled with mortise and tenon and through dovetail joints. The end panels float within the frames. The veneer on the top, panels and drawer fronts was bandsawn in the shop and then sanded to l/8” thickness before it was laid up.

      The drawers have White Oak sides and aromatic cedar bottoms. They are dovetailed front and back and are guided by hardwood runners on the top, bottom and both sides.

      The finish is three coats of polyurethane varnish, sanded and then hand rubbed to a soft luster with 0000 steel wool.
