Sea Shell Chest

45”wide - 21”deep - 54” tall

      The black walnut end frames of this large chest are joined with wedged mortise and tenon joints. The solid bird’s eye maple panels are free to move within the frame in response to changing humidity. The horizontal rails between the drawers are through dovetailed to the end frames in the front and back. These frames serve as top and bottom guides for the drawers. The drawers are dovetailed front and back and have solid maple sides and aromatic cedar bottoms. The sea shell pulls are hand carved from black walnut. The chest is finished with polyurethane varnish inside and out.
