Writer’s Desk

82” wide - 42”deep - 30” tall

      The legs and frame parts of this large desk are California Walnut; the drawer fronts, panels and top surface are eastern black cherry. The drawers have curly maple pulls and are mounted on full extension slides.

      The end frames are assembled with mortise and tenon joints and the rails are through dovetailed to the ends. The cherry is 1/8 inch thick band sawn veneer laid up on medium density fiberboard (the top) and Baltic birch plywood (drawer fronts and panels). The backing veneer is eastern soft maple. The entire desk is finished with polyurethane varnish sanded and rubbed out with steel wool.
